The ParaFishControl consortium gathers 29 partners comprising public and private partners with crosscutting complementary skills from 13 European countries: Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

AQUATT is a SME specialising in dissemination, knowledge management and transfer, communication, training and outreach activities and project management. Founded in 1992 under the EU COMETT Programme as a University Enterprise Training Partnership (UETP) to help bridge the gap between science and industry, AQUATT has 23 years of experience working in scientific fields related to Marine, Food, Energy, Health and Environment, which are key sectors for Europe’s sustainability.

AQUATT coordinates the H2020 project COLUMBUS on knowledge transfer for Blue Growth (2015-2018), and is a work package leader in the H2020 projects ParaFishControl, SEACHANGE and AQUAEXCEL2020 as well as in over 15 FP7 projects. In addition, AQUATT was the coordinator of the Coordination and Support Action MarineTT (European Marine Research Knowledge Transfer and Uptake of Results), a flagship FP7 project that established successful knowledge management and transfer methodologies which are currently being implemented in several other FP7, H2020 and national projects. In parallel to its work supporting research, AQUATT has a long track record in the field of education and training, informing strategies, and creating networks to exchange best practice.

AQUATT works alongside Europe’s top researchers to help tackle major societal challenges by ensuring the new knowledge generated from EU research is effectively transferred, resulting in uptake and measurable impact.

Role in the project:

AQUATT leads WP8 (Dissemination, Knowledge Transfer and IPR Management), ensuring effective external communication, dissemination and optimal knowledge transfer of the project results and applications leading to optimal exploitation of its research outputs.

Key persons involved:


David Murphy, AQUATT Manager. He has more than 14 years of experience working in EC projects in the field of RTD, Education and Training, having coordinated eight and participated in over 40. He coordinated the FP7 project MarineTT, coordinated Aqua-tnet for five years, and was instrumental in growing the network to a more significant body able to meet the challenges of the Bologna and Copenhagen Processes and Reforms. He is also the facilitator of the Knowledge Management Thematic Area of EATiP, the European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform, bringing together private and public stakeholders to promote and coordinate research and development to improve competitiveness in the European aquaculture industry. 

 Marieke Marieke Reuver, Programme Manager. She has extensive experience in managing EC research projects, dealing specifically with knowledge management and transfer, communication and dissemination, as well as stakeholder engagement. She has been work package leader of activities related to the above for over 10 FP7 projects, and has been/is a member of project steering committees, executive committees and advisory boards. She has a background in Animal Science (MSc) with an aquaculture specialisation from Wageningen University (the Netherlands).
