The ParaFishControl consortium gathers 29 partners comprising public and private partners with crosscutting complementary skills from 13 European countries: Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

INGENASA is a highly specialised biotechnology company dedicated to research, development and marketing of products designed to the diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases, especially those affecting the Animal Health sector. The company based in Madrid has 46 employees, mostly women, and has 30 years’ experience in the development of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies which have been used for the development of diagnostic test for many veterinary diseases, which are currently commercialised. The research activities (50% of the total sales) are partially funded by national grants from the Spanish Governmental Agencies and from European Union Framework Programmes. Also, INGENASA is active in areas of prevention of animal diseases and has participated in several European project funded by the EU in the BRIDGE, BIOTECH, FAIR, FP5, FP6 and FP7 programs dedicated to development of new diagnostic and vaccines. Based on this research INGENASA has registered more than 80 patents and 82 publications.

Role in the project:

INGENASA will participate mainly in WP4. It will be responsible for the development of a field and rapid diagnostic test for parasitic infections.

Paloma Rueda INGENASA PFC P27 

Dr. Paloma Rueda is currently the Head of the Research Department at Inmunología y Genética Aplicada, S.A. (INGENASA). With more than 20 years of experience in research on virology, diagnosis and vaccinology, she has lead and coordinated National and European research projects mainly focused in the development of vaccines and diagnostic assays in human and veterinary fields.

In the ParaFishControl project, she will be involved in the coordination, design and development of immunoassays for field detection of E. nucleophila and Enteromyxum spp.
 CarmenGalan INGENASA PFC 27

Dr. Carmen Galán is an experienced molecular biology researcher with expertise in the fields of molecular virology, virus-host interactions, proteomics, genomics and epigenetics. In 2014 she joined INGENASA, an SME based in Madrid, with more than 30 years of experience in developing diagnostic tools for relevant veterinary diseases. Carmen is responsible for the development of tools for immuno and molecular diagnostics of aquaculture-relevant diseases.

In the ParaFishControl project INGENASA is involved in the development of monoclonal antibodies and point of care diagnostic tests (lateral flow immunoassays) for the detection of E. nucleophila and Enteromyxum spp.
